These are exciting times in the history of mankind. We are no longer, as a majority tied to our 1st and 2nd Chakras. The awareness of the potential of what an average person can accomplish and at the same time have an eye on our humble past from a caveman to a potential Enlightened being, truly ignites the heart with joy and hope.
As a writer, I feel that spirituality adds another dimension that it needs; instead of writing to just provide sustainable for me and my family, it helps me connect with the Divine Source as well. I question myself: why is it important to let the connection with the Source influence us as authors? Isn’t it noble enough that we can have a good income and provide for our dependents from it?
My first thoughts are that no, it is not enough; as humans we yearn for connections with our loved ones, friends, community, fans, Nature, angels, etc. If we are successful with keeping that connection stable, how does it affect us? I feel that it removes our ties with the basal Chakras and ascension to higher Chakras is possible. How does it affect you and I as writers and authors? If we are able to awaken the crown Chakra, it can transform our purpose in life and in turn affect our writing. Fear of not being able to eek out a living to feed our children is replaced with serenity and focus becomes questions like: what can I do for the world through my words? Who can I serve? How can my book make massive positive changes to the whole mankind?
By the term ‘spiritual author’, I do not mean authors who write about spiritual topics. The term to me means writers, even if they are sci fi, fantasy writers have their vision broad enough to align all spheres of life that affect them, especially the spiritual.
